Pete's Profile

Peter Cowen is recognised as one of the world's elite band of teaching professionals. A former Tour champion, Peter established his reputation as a first class coach whilst Head Professional at the prestigious Lindrick Golf Club near Worksop. As his reputation grew, so did demand for his services - from Tour players, club professionals and aspiring amateurs. With his reputation assured, Peter left Lindrick in 1997 to become a full-time golf coach, spending much of his time travelling with his clients on the PGA European Tour.

Over the years Pete has worked with some of the very best players in the world including Major Champions, European Tour Winners and Ryder Cup Players such as Darren Clarke, Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, Oliver Wilson, Colin Montgomerie, David Howell, Jose Maria-Olazabal, Paul McGinley and Ian Woosnam - Captain of the European 2006 Ryder Cup Team.

He was also Senior Coach to both the English Golf Union and the Yorkshire Golf Union, coaching national and county teams at senior and youth level.

He has recently joined the Golfing Union of Ireland's coaching team.

2010 has been a stellar year for Pete Cowen, his academy and his players!  It seems that, even by Pete’s high standards, 2010 is turning into a year to remember having already notched up a 2nd place for Lee Westwood at the Masters, a US Open win for Graeme McDowell and now a treble at the Open Championship at St.Andrews with a win for Louis Oosthuizen and 2nd and 3rd for Westwood and Stenson.
